The Association of Marine Laboratories of the Caribbean (AMLC) is holding its 41st Scientific Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, June 2-6, 2025.  Hosted by the Sociedad Ambiente Marino (SAM), the conference will be held at the Verdanza Hotel, Isla Verde.

The AMLC is proud to continue its long tradition. Since 1957, the AMLC has brought together Caribbean-focused students, scientists and others interested in marine science, conservation and policy to exchange ideas and address critical issues at its biennial scientific conferences.

As the only Caribbean-focused conference of its kind, this event focuses on marine science, conservation, and policy in addressing critical coastal and marine issues affecting the wider Caribbean. The 2025 Scientific Conference will be a five-day event focusing on presentations and productive interactions encompassing all aspects of marine science. We expect an attendance of over 300 local and international participants and media coverage. Previous sponsors have included private sector donors like Iberostar Beachfront Resorts and Grupo Puntacana; International institutions like The Nature Conservancy, Coral Restoration Consortium and the German Development Agency (GIZ); and multiple universities and regional NGOs.

The AMLC is seeking support from individuals and organizations to defray conference costs and offer affordable registration fees to students.  Support can be provided for the benefit of the meeting overall, or targeted to assist with specific costs, such as assistance with student travel needs, break refreshments or banquet meals, and/or other specific meeting expenses (e.g., A/V or venue fees).  The AMLC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so all donations/sponsorships to it are tax deductible.

For those interested in sponsorships, we offer the following levels:
  • Platinum ($25,000 USD or more)
  • Gold ($10,000 – $24,999 USD)
  • Silver ($5,000 – $9,999 USD)
  • Bronze ($3,500 – $4,999 USD)
